Beeps Points
Conformation has many different point systems that every division follow. Pennsylvania follows under division 2 along with Delaware, New Jersey, and New York. There are a total of 15 divisions in the United States. Each country has its own point system that they follow. In the United States, there are many classes that are available to enter. Dogs are allowed to start showing at the age of six months in the class 6-9 months. As the dog gets older they move to other classes, 9-12 month and open. Becoming an AKC champion requires a lot of work and training. While the dog is in the puppy and open classes they will need to inquire 15 points and 2 majors. Once the dog as accomplished their championship (CH) they are moved into a new class called best of verity (BOV) or best of breed (BOB). Now the dogs are on their way to become a Grand Champion (GCH). They earn this title by gaining 25 points, 3 majors, and 3 CH defeated. What are majors? Majors are points that are collected when a number of dogs enter at a show, majors start at 3 points and go to the highest of 5 points. Each division and breed has its own point and major system. After the dog gets their Grand Champion (GCH) they remain in the same class but they are able to earn new titles. Grand Champion Bronze (GCHB) 100 points. Grand Champion Silver (GCHS) 200 points. Grand Champion Gold (GCHG) 400 points. Grand Champion Platinum (GCHP) 800 point.
We will be following one Miniature American Shepherd throughout her journey in the show world. As of April 3, 2019 GCHG Wyndemere's Baby U Can Drive My Car CGC TKP “Beep” has 617 points 116 majors with 114 champions defeated. Beep is on her way to being the first bitch to receive her Grand Champion Platinum.
