Crown Point, IN April 13 & 14

Two day show at the Steel City kennel club located in Crown Point, IN over the weekend of April 13 & 14, 2019. There was a total of 18 Miniature American Shepherds entered. With the breakdown of 6 dogs in class, 8 bitches in class, 2 champion dogs, and 1 champion bitches for day 1. For day 2 only one class bitch was added 6-9(2-1).

Day One:
Waking up early, ex-ing dogs (taking dogs to out to the bathroom), feeding, bathing, and blowing is an understatement of how dog show morning go. Getting the show site, you have your show schedule made; what ring and what time you are expected to show. Miniature American Shepherds were shown in ring 2 at 1 o’clock under the judge June A. Penta. The judge went through the classes and picked the winner dog along with the winner bitch. It then came to Best of Breed, all the dogs lined up; dogs in front of the bitches. Going over each dog, watching gait, and side movement. The judge only has 5 placements (Best of Breed, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite, Grand Champion Select Dog, Grand Champion Select Bitch). Beep made her way to being Best of Breed, her and Billy then were heading off to groups that started at 2:45 P.M. With 6 groups before the herding group with a rough estimate of a half hour per group, Billy and Beep will not step foot in the group ring till closer to 5 o’clock. It’s time Beep has been made “petty” again ready to go compete against all of the other herding breeds. Under the same judge that rewarded her Best of Breed, Beep went for a group 4!

Day Two:
The morning is the same as day one, always finding what ring and time you are showing at. Mini American Shepherds  being shown at 8:30 A.M. in ring one under Walter J. Sommerfelt. With the same amount of dog entered, beep come out with Best of Opposite. Day two was a short day for Beep.
