Beeps Points

Image
Conformation has many different point systems that every division follow. Pennsylvania follows under division 2 along with Delaware, New Jersey, and New York. There are a total of 15 divisions in the United States. Each country has its own point system that they follow. In the United States, there are many classes that are available to enter. Dogs are allowed to start showing at the age of six months in the class 6-9 months. As the dog gets older they move to other classes, 9-12 month and open. Becoming an AKC champion requires a lot of work and training. While the dog is in the puppy and open classes they will need to inquire 15 points and 2 majors. Once the dog as accomplished their championship (CH) they are moved into a new class called best of verity (BOV) or best of breed (BOB). Now the dogs are on their way to become a Grand Champion (GCH). They earn this title by gaining 25 points, 3 majors, and 3 CH defeated. What are majors? Majors are points that are collected when a n...

Why do dogs have long names?

Image
Every dog the is registered with the AKC is required. Each kennel has its own specific title that they attach to each puppy that they breed. The registered names cannot be repeated in the breed. The registered names correspond with their pedigree that allows people and other breeders to follow the breeding program or dog of their choice. Breeders use a name checker to make sure that the names that they would like to use have not been used.  GCHG Wyndemere's Baby U Can Drive My Car CGC TKP "Beep"

Show Schedule Secret

Image
In the conformation show world there is a non-spoken rule that handlers and breeders are not allowed to speak of their next show or where they have entered. There is this rule in play because if everyone shared where they are showing or entering other handlers would pull their dogs or not enter in those shows and potentially “break points.” Upcoming shows for conformation, rally and obedience can be found on Jim Rau or MBF . Agility, rally, dock diving, and obedience are not as strict as the conformation ring because the dogs are not competing against one another. Agility shows can be found on scores n more  and through different kennel club. Dock diving can be found on sport mutts and through the AKC.  GCHG Wyndemere's Baby U Can Drive My Car CGC TKP "Beep"

Animals shows have been around from the 1900s.  Conformation showing  is the ability to produce and comparing the dogs to the breed standards to the best of the judge ability. There is a large range of types of showing that are available to exhibitors and owners. Miniature American Shepherds are known for their talent in  dock diving ,  fly ball ,  agility ,  rally ,  obedience  and  herding . Not  only are there only six type of shows that Miniature American Shepherds are talented in but there are many more that are not not recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
